INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19 IN CHILDREN
Present
knowledge indicates that children are not as adversely affected by
Covid-19 as the older people. In Singapore, the disease infected 57 children - those aged 16 and younger, until May 7, 2020. Evidence showed that children are typically infected by adults and not their peers. (The Straits Times, May 15, 2020)
However there are some deaths and
infections with Kawasaki Disease. Research is in progress. Covid-19
pandemic is not going to disappear within this year, according to the
experts.
For front-line healthcare workers, the single-use disposable surgical face masks are used. However, buy the reputable brands as the surgical face masks vary in quality as they are mass produced by more companies in China, Vietnam and other countries. Many claim to have BFE (Bacteria Filtration Efficiency) of 95% to 99%, but it is difficult for buyers to confirm what they claim.
Reusable face masks without filters are said to provide 50-60% of protection against bacteria. With two moisture repellent filters from Scepter 4-Ply Pleated Face Mask for Children, there is more protection.
